Field Testing & Researcher Program

Would you like to be a Field Examiner?

As it develops tests, Pearson works with examiners across the country who administer possible items to children and adults in their area. This helps ensure that any items which are culturally biased can be removed and that a wide range of individuals are included in the normative sample.

Both the examiner and examinee are paid for their time for most projects. We are striving to make our tests more user-friendly both for examinees and examiners. We value the feedback we get from examiners in the field.

What kind of examiners are needed?

This varies with the project, but generally includes psychologists, speech and language pathologists, educational diagnosticians, educators, human resource professionals and other trained professionals who routinely administer individual tests. View Current Project Information for more details.

Available Now:  A Handy Tool for Calculating Current Age

Pearson's field testing projects require examinees to be in specific age ranges.  A calculator that determines age in years, months and days has been developed for use by field examiners.  Just enter the examinee’s date of birth, and you will get the accurate calculation as of today.  You may access this at any time. Please feel free to use it to double check your work, for your day-to-day assessments as well as those you are conducting for Pearson.  Click here to access the calculator.
