Ready to Learn is designed for routine early literacy screening within a preschool program or within the school for children up to age 6 years, 5 months.
Brief, engaging subtests assess the following:
• Visual and verbal working memory
• Attention span
• Auditory and visual discrimination skills
• General motor coordination, including fine motor skills
• Early literacy skills, including speed of information retrieval and phonological awareness
Use Ready to Learn to assess pre-reading skills or to monitor progress in early identification of children resistant to standard reading remediation. Ready to Learn provides a record of the child’s development and growth, indicates strengths and needs, and presents information that can be used for in-school support. It serves as a valuable first step in documenting whether a comprehensive evaluation is needed.
